About Me My Classes More Photos Videos	About Me I was born on August 11, 1988 in Saskatoon Saskatchewan. I have lived on a farm 40 minutes outside of Saskatoon all my life. I went to school at the small town of Aberdeen, where I was involved in many sports and activities including basketball, track and field, and the student representative council. I moved to Regina in September of 2006 to attend the University of Regina. I am currently in my 3rd year of the Film and Video Production Program. It was in high school when I discovered my love for film. I was privileged to have the opportunity to work with video in assignments, and in my last 2 years, I created some projects I am proud of. I never was able to spend much time on homework, but when it came to filming and editing, I would spend hours making the project just right. My teachers were always impressed with my video assignments, as I used editing techniques I learnt on my own and on my own computer. Because of my love for video and editing, I was selected to create my high school’s graduation slideshow. This was the first time that I was unrestricted by limitations, and could do it however I wanted to. Like anything with video and editing, I ran into some problems and had no sleep the night before it needed to be done because it needed to be perfect. All the hard work and effort paid off in the end though. Everyone loved it and it is something I can look back on and be proud of. I have continued this intertest for proffessional slideshows with various family events, such as my sister's wedding. I am currently a DJ for Platinum Music Services. I have been working with the company for over a year, djing at weddings, anniversaries, school dances, and Christmas parties. I absolutely love it and I am now trying to apply my love for making proffessional slideshows into the real life. I am in the process of starting up my own business in which I will create wedding or anniversary slideshows, as well as becoming a semi-proffessional wedding videographer. Platinum Music has already agreed to helpig me advertise my own work on their website, as well as promote my services whenever given the chance. I believe this work will help get me through university, as well as experience in a field that i truly enjoy. I do not have any major influences for my film career, however, I can thank my English and History teacher for giving me the opportunity to work with video and find my new love. Before deciding to attend the Film and Video Production program at Regina, I was originally accepted at the University of Saskatchewan, planning to take Arts and Science, then move to a Forensic Science program. Right after graduation, however, I was inspired by the words of my older sister Adele. She sent me an e-mail telling me that I should not let anything like money stop me from what I wanted to do, and that I could do whatever I wanted to if I only set my mind to it. It was at that moment when I decided that I wanted to go into the film and Video field and it was not only a dream, but a possibility. After I finish my 4 year program and receive my Bachelor of Fine Arts degree, I would like to find a job in Regina so I can get some experience without having to make a sudden move when I cannot afford it. I do not want to stay in Regina my whole life though. I want to start my career in editing or multimedia production. Both areas I have a great interest in. I will not be disappointed if my career never moves much farther than that, but I would like to write and make my own films one day. It seems like only a dream, but if I tell myself it will never happen, then it will not. Even if I have to reach for the stars, I will keep my goals set, so maybe one day I can say that I’ve accomplished everything that I wanted to.
