Help with PuTTY

If you are trying to use vi with Putty, you may find that the backspace and arrow keys do not work correctly.

To fix this, you will have to modify some of the configurations.

The following screen captures show the configurations that will provide a better response for the backspace and arrow keys.

Note: with these configurations, on Solaris machines (such as hercules), pressing the arrow keys will NOT put additional characters on your screen, but it will take you out of insert mode.

Note: If you want to use Teraprint, select an appropriate printer in the "Printer to send ANSI printer output to:" section (shown in the above snapshot).
