Applications for Graduate Scholarships and Teaching Assistantships for Summer due March 2 (Expired)

The Department of Computer Science advises its graduate students that FGSR funding applications for the Spring/Summer 2012 semester are due next week. Applications must be submitted to our CS office by 4:30 pm on Friday, March 2. If you are eligible you should apply!  Also apply even if you have been committed such funding in your offer of admission as part of your first year of studies. Regardless of commitments, we need the application to be filled out so that we can submit it to FGSR. In the Spring/Summer semester we typically only award FGSR Research Awards (GRA) and Scholarships (GSS). This Spring/Summer we may also have some FGSR TAS available; however, please only submit the GRA and GSS application form for now. Further advisement on possible TAs will come at a later date.

There is a single application form that covers both the GRA and the GSS; it can be found here under Financial Aid Forms at

The terms of reference and further information on both awards can be found here:

Students are eligible for the awards if and only if:
- they are registered full-time in the Spring/Summer 2012 semester
- are in good standing, meaning they have resolved any failed courses
- will not be in post-program maintenance, i.e., registered in GRST 995...
- do not hold another major award in excess of $16,500 for the same allocation period
- are not employed for more than 12 hrs/wk on or off campus

If you have any questions about the application process, please contact the Program Coordinator, Wendy Preikchat, at
