Several members of our department participated in Science Rendezvous on May 12, 2012 at the University of Regina.  Science Rendezvous is part of a national effort to showcase the scientific research that is taking place at Canadian universities and other research institutions.  For more information, see http://www.sciencerendezvous.ca/2012/.

Recent graduate Natasha Jaques and current undergraduates Billy Hamilton and Tori Verlysdonk introduced visitors to Computer Science concepts using Lightbot software.  Lab instructor Alex Clarke, aided by the three just mentioned, demonstrated programming of Lego robots.  Program coordinator Wendy Preikchat facilitated communication and supervised the ice cream event.  Faculty members Cory Butz, David Gerhard, Howard Hamilton, and Daryl Hepting aided in planning and preparing for the event.  Overall planning at the University of Regina was contributed by Dr. Stephen Cheng of the Department of Chemistry.
