Xiaofei Deng is one of the winners of the 2012 Shen Kuo Competition (Expired)

The Department would like to congratulate Xiaofei Deng, a PhD student in the Department of Computer Science, for being one of the Shen Kuo award recipients this year.  The Shen Kuo Project is a new initiative that will showcase the excellent research being conducted at the University of Regina by Chinese graduate students. Xiaofei Deng's research focuses on rough set theory and granular computing. He will be traveling to Beijing on June 9th to present his research at a Shen Kuo conference at North China Electric Power University.  This presentation will be followed by a presentation at his home institution, Soochow University, in Suzhou, Jiangsu Province (near Shanghai).

We also extend congratulations to Tian Li Zhang, an MSc student in Mathematics and Statistics (and a BSc Computer Science/Math alumni in 2011), for being a Shen Kuo award recipient this year.
