Dr. David Gerhard will appear on the Ideas program on CBC Radio, Friday, Dec. 6, 2013 at 9:00 pm (Expired)

The Department of Computer Science is pleased to announce that Dr. David Gerhard, a faculty member in our department, will appear on the Ideas program on CBC radio on Friday, Dec. 6, 2013 at 9 p.m. (9:30 p.m. NT). Dr. Gerhard's topic is: THE REVOLUTION WILL BE EXTRUDED. Ideas is a nationally broadcast program that covers social issues, culture and the arts, geopolitics, history, biography, science and technology, and the humanities. According to the CBC website, most of its programs, are "documentaries in which thoughts are gathered, contexts explored, and connections made." We are pleased to see Dr. Gerhard's presentation join this fine tradition.

Note: The correct time is 9:00 pm. Sorry for any confusion.

THE REVOLUTION WILL BE EXTRUDED.

Summary of Broadcast:

There's a lot of buzz about 3-D printers -- guns! skin grafts! pizza in space! But as Regina computer scientist David Gerhard discovers, these machines, and the people who use them, are about to revolutionize the way we think about manufacturing, and how we get stuff.
