Open Invitation for a UAV demo of autonomous flying - Jan 15, 12:30pm Gym 2 (Expired)

Everyone is invited to a demonstration of Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) flying in Gym 2 on the UofR Campus on Wednesday, January 15 at 12:30pm.

We would like to demonstrate some of the capabilities we have developed through an NSERC Strategic Project titled: Flexible Control of Low Altitude UAVs.

In this project we add machine vision to the control and flying of UAVs for various non-military applications such as policing and pipeline security. In addition we show how UAVs can be used by the police in accident scene reconstruction through photogrammetry with UAV imagery.

All are welcome to attend but please come early as there will be limited space and there will be only one demonstration.

Please note also that UAV have high speed rotors and while every effort will be made to keep everyone safe (there will be an area marked for the audience) attendance is at your own risk.
