The balloon will carry an equipment payload, designed by the students as part of their project for CS490CV. This launch will test the GPS/GSP retrieval system they have developed, as well as take photographs of the upper atmosphere.

The data and photographs will be presented at Science Rendezvous on Saturday, May 10 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The University of Regina high altitude balloon launch team is also the only team in western Canada to be participating in this weekend's Global Space Balloon Challenge, where more than 70 teams from around the world will launch balloons to the edge of space.
