CS 327 - Introduction to Computer Audio

Description: The purpose of this course is to provide a broad overview of many areas of computer audio, including: Digital representation and compression; MP3s and music downloading; Psychoacoustics; Surround Sound; Speech recognition and Music Information Retrieval; MIDI and New interfaces for music; and video game sound. We will also explore modular interactive software environments such as Max/MSP and PD.

Prerequisites: Completion of 60 credit hours and permission of the instructor are required to register.
