Guideline for using RDP (Remote Desktop Protocal)

A Brief Summary and Steps of connecting to the CL136 compters

1. From Start Menu, select FortiClient, OR click on the FortiClient icon

   

2. Select Remote Access, then type in your U of R usename and Password.
   You will be connected to UofR SSL-VPN. AND Keep it connected.

   

3. From Start Menu, select Remote Desktop Connection,

   
   You will be prompted to provide the computer IP.
   You will be prompted to provide the username (UR username) and
   password(UR Student ID#).
   You will be connected to a designated computer in CL136 by now.

4. You can open applications such as Logisim, LogicWorks, and and so on.
   You can save files on your home drive.

   

5. You can submit your circuit files from UR Courses.
   You can do screenshot.
   You can also use email to send your files out.
   You can do most of the things that you can do in the lab.
6. To be able to access your I: drive,
   • Click on the right bottom up arrow, then right click on the N,

     

   • then click on OES login and provide your U of R username and password to sign in

     

     

   • Click on This PC.
     You should be able to see your HOME drive the same as
     you normally logged on in the lab room.

     

7. When you are done, please Sign out. Only Sign out!!!!!

   
   You will be back on your local computer.

8. Now Disconnect Forticlient VPN.
